Pictographs, and such...

At my core, I'm a marketer who likes to see results in simple formats, like graphs and charts.  It makes the world more simple to understand.  It's amazing what can be understood through visual representations.  The most basic of these is the pie chart.

Of course, any statistician worth his salt will tell you that pie charts are the devil's handiwork because they don't provide any exact numbers, only relationships.  Sometimes they can be good if seen as a pictograph.  Consider the following pictograph:


This is a visualization of the people that came to this blog, separated by the browser they were using when they visited.  For the first time ever, Firefox out-performed Internet Explorer, and not just by a little; Internet Explorer got TROUNCED!  Woohoo!!!
